The Greek news are reporting that Nery Castillo is finally going back to Olympiakos after two and a half years away in the Ukraine. Shakhtar Donetsk and Olympiakos agreed to an 18 month deal and Nery himself helped push the transfer. Details are very scarce at the moment but nothing is official quite yet.
If this is true then I’m relieved that Nery is finally getting the chance to be at the club of his life again. He had a rough year, pretty much making habitat on the benches of Shakhtar and Dnipro and having both of his parents die in the span of a year. If he earns and then is given his chance to play again, he’ll earn a spot on the World Cup roster and help the team assuming he’s in good form. The Nery catastrophe seems to be turning the corner and the Nery Castillo Nut Riders Committee™ will assemble once again if he shows his bones like he did back in 2007.
